Why are You at the Crystal Palace?

A lot of people have come a long way to the Crystal Palace, but why have you done so?

Most Execs are here on assignment. They have been picked by their corp for this rather sensitive and under-the-table auction. It does need to be emphasized that, despite the PCs knowing about this, the general public does not. As far as anyone except a few highly placed people and some Fixers are concerned, this is just a regular high end auction. It's possible that even some Edgerunner characters here just think it's a normal auction.

The corporation you're attached to has provided an expense account to the tune of 5000 eb. This is intended for "business incidentals" like bribes and paying Edgerunners for jobs the corp might need done. Using it for personal gain will require embezzlement.

Edgerunners are commonly here because they heard about the auction (whether they know it's true less than legal nature or not) and recognize that corp maneuvering always means jobs. However, others were hired specifically to be here. Perhaps you were hired to play a few days of the auction if you're a rockerboy, or you were hired as a bodyguard if you have Solo levels. It's up to you, just make sure and run it by me.

Edgerunners start with one free item up to 1000 eb. This may be cyberware, a fancy cyberdeck, a bodyweight suit, a collection of ammunition, etc. A 1000 eb collection of the same type of single use item, like ammunition, counts as one item. I invite players to check out the rules regarding item quality for weapons (pg 342) and cyberdecks (pg 353).
