First things first: I'm sorry I ran out of steam there yall. Lots of craziness IRL the last few days, which really sucks. But I honestly can't stand leaving loose threads and unfinished stories.
If you have a question feel free to ask and I'll answer. I'm still kinda... *sigh* not in a Sal headspace. But I don't mind dishing on his story, personality, missed/unwritten details, etc. If the story is reprised within a year's time of the Auction then Sal can make an appearance. Otherwise he's going to vanish a year afterwards - assuming he doesn't meet a tragic end.

Re: Better Call Sal - Q&A
1. Biggest curveball the game threw you? A.) Maybe Magenta being a straight shooter? Sal got his money. In my mind he started the game as a millionaire, and ended it with 3 or 4 times what he had. In this world you don't expect good business. That would ironically pay dividends for Magenta down the road. Assuming he'd survive the coming year.
2. Biggest curveball Sal threw you? A.) Sal was actually pretty predictable. A lot more predictable than any character I've ever run. Though it was a fun pivot. Before the meeting with Magenta he was living like a terminal cancer patient. Everyday without regrets. Afterwards he pivoted to, "Shit... I've actually got a future."
3. Any character who didn't drop you wish you'd interacted with more? A.) What besides Isis
? Hmmm, maybe Terri? He likes and respects talented artists so a chance to network would have been huge for him. Otherwise I'm sure at some point he'll try to track down Angel.
4. Biggest missed opportunity? A.) He pretty much did more than he had set out to do. OOC: When he found his feet again maybe day 4 or 5 he realized that he was on track to die alone. So he was peripherally looking for romance. Not developing one of those could be considered a missed opportunity I guess.
5. Any background details that never came up that you wouldn't mind sharing? A.) So many... I could probably fill the page with unnecessary Rowling-level details. Off the top of my head I know that I wanted to round out the micro story arcs with Italian headings. I pretty much had them graphed out OOC and they were very conditional. The last one would have featured his best friend Luna and his guitar player Stu announcing their engagement, with him realizing too late that he had feelings for her. Cliche? Maybe... but tis the season for that sort of crap.
Oh I also wanted to showcase some more of his personality. He's actually incredibly honest. Had Birb had the bandwidth, or a co-GM, to play his side piece. I would have demonstrated how completely up front with her he was about everything. Had a romance between PCs developed he would have proven highly monogamous. When he gives his word he keeps it, even if it costs him everything to do so. It's the one thing that keeps me from disliking the character on a fundamental level. Since morality wise he has a scale: Friends > Him > 10 regular people > 1 billion corpos or corpo affiliates. Which is literally why he couldn't have cared less about the collateral damage caused by Magenta's scheme.
6. How satisfied is Sal with his time at the Crystal Palace? A.) Sal's very pleased. Like I said he's wealthier, he's got more contacts added to his rolodex, he even has a plan to cause mayhem and make more money in the long run. Everything is coming up Sal atm. Likely not gonna last.

Magenta will likely make an effort to make sure he lives. She sees her deal with Sal as an investment. She's a long term thinker whose priorities are:Sal wrote: ↑Wed Feb 15, 2023 5:15 am1. 5. Currency

Re: Better Call Sal - Q&A
From a chance meeting to a business relationship and having to protect Sal in detail - Valentina lucked out knowing Sal and doing her job professionally. She was probably more anxious with Sal in the meeting with Magenta that at any other point beside the Heist, just because of how brazen he was in the meeting. It worked out for him though! She had stepped back and wanted to leave him alone after that meeting, as he had seemed to have a death wish (and bodyguarding someone like that is like suicide), but Sal discovering a future to live for likely meant that changed. She was very glad to pick up on that later on, and that's before the job offer. She was relieved he wasn't going to keep living in such a headstrong, devil may care way. She values surviving over glory. In the meeting, especially as she didn't know the background to it, she thought he wanted glory and to power play. I don't think Sal has yet gone into his longer term aims.
So, would you like to go into what those are?
And, why did Sal learn to be such an excellent shot with a gun? (I think you easily had the highest handgun skill)

Re: Better Call Sal - Q&A
First off, thank you both for the RP. You guys are awesome! Much love and respect. I ended up leaving both of you hanging and I really hate that.
- Start a network of Media, Netrunners, and Rockerboys, all very much anti corpo.
- Collect a crap ton of dirt on the bastards
- Throw a big frikkin music festival
- Unload corpo secrets by the metric fuck ton
- Watch the market collapse in glee
I think by the time he refines the plan it'll shape into a Cyber Wiki-leaks. If he gets a brilliant powerplayer/exec in his rolodex he might even be able to accomplish objective 5 but that would take luck. Either way, I'm not sure he's past the devil may care phase. But after he throws the festival his plan is to hang up his hat and disappear. Get married, have kids, coast on the royalties.
He sees Valentina as an important investment towards that end. To him he's less contracting her and more entering into a partnership. She's going to have to deal with ALOT of bullshit over the next year. But at the end of it she'll have his entire book of business at her disposal. As well as a sizeable bonus for seeing him through it.
Why so good with a gun: OOC it's because it was cheaper to have him be a good shot rather than a competent martial artist. I went through 10 iterations of rockerboys before I gave up and made Giani Silverhand, err I mean Sal. IC: He's a good shot because he grew up alone in a warzone. Lots of kills under his belt as a child. It would have taken a lot of therapy to get him to where he is at 50 Empathy. Otherwise his childhood is reasonably undeveloped aside from what I wrote in one of the mini stories. It was this one actually.
The album drop? That's a Birb question. The tour dates would be about a month or so after the Auction. Lots of intrigue, plans to make, people to see.
Long-term goals: If you haven't realized this by now Sal isn't a cerebral character. His 'plans' are really nebulous storm fronts that he drives toward with abandon. That said Sapphire threw down the gauntlet so his hairbrained plans at the moment are:

- Collect a crap ton of dirt on the bastards
- Throw a big frikkin music festival
